Women’s Indoor Coached League

Calling all Ladies! The competitive women’s program would like to invite you to play in the Winter Women’s Indoor Coached League. This league is for women of all skill levels. We’ve put together a fun program for 2012 that combines skills sessions with scrimmages. This winter, join us to hone your basic frisbee skills, plus learn about:

• Hucks
• Hammers
• 4×4
• Layouts
• Deep strikes

These are all things you may not learn from your summer captains! We’ll also review a variety of offences and defences that can be used both indoor and outdoor. And, based on feedback from our successful 2011 program, we’ll be providing some innovative take home materials to players.

Summer Wrap-Up

After months of training, practice, and fun, Stella’s hanging up her cleats for the summer for some much deserved R&R.

At the 25th Canadian Ultimate Championships Stella fought hard to beat her seed and came in 8th.  But not without injury.  She has a beautiful big and black eye; nearly broke her nose; had a near miss with heat stroke; almost (or maybe did) break her hand; sprained her ankle something fierce; lost some toe nails; discovered new blisters; has many new mystery bruises; suffered calf cramps; strained her IT band; and is likely going to need surgery on her knee!

Oh, and did we mention that she’s having a baby next month?

If that wasn’t enough, there have been rumblings that Stella might make an appearance this fall.

Nationals

Stella’s getting ready for the 25th Canadian Ultimate Championships which are taking place in her backyard.  She’s practiced and trained hard for the past 3 months and beginning on Thursday August 11, she’ll be put to the test.

Want to see Stella in action?  Check out the schedule and head out to UPI for some fun in the sun.

STELLA-ELLA-OLA … PEANS AND CORN!

Stella Leadership!

Stella is pleased to have full leadership once again.  Captains Jaime Boss and Sandra Shaddick have been working tirelessly to get Stella into stellar shape for Regionals (July 16 / 17 @ No Borders).

This past weekend Stella strutted her stuff on the fields in Devens, MA.  She dazzled everyone with her gritty defence, which included a CALLAHAN or two.

Never one to rest, Stella’s off to the Montreal Jazz Tournament this coming weekend where you can expect to see her fierce, but spirited, competition on the field.

Happy early Canada Day!
